Photography Specialist
Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled and passionate Photography Specialist to join our team. This role is essential for ensuring the highest quality of photographic content, particularly focused on capturing the Northern Lights and wilderness adventures. The Photography Specialist will manage the entire photographic process, from capturing images to editing and maintaining equipment, training guides, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Work begins during September and lasts until the end of the season in mid April.
Key Responsibilities:
- Northern Lights Photo Editing:
- Edit and enhance Northern Lights photos to ensure they meet the highest quality standards.
- Utilize advanced photo editing software to bring out the best in each image.
- Camera Inventory & Cleanliness Management & Ordering:
- Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all camera equipment.
- Ensure all equipment is clean and in working condition.
- Order new equipment and supplies as needed to keep the inventory complete and operational.
- Training of Wilderness Guides for Photography:
- Train wilderness guides on the basics of photography, including camera handling, composition, and capturing the Northern Lights.
- Provide ongoing support and advanced training as needed.
- Photo Database Management:
- Organize and maintain a comprehensive database of all photos and videos.
- Ensure all files are correctly labeled, stored, and easily accessible.
- Sending Cameras to Service:
- Manage the process of sending cameras and equipment for service and repairs.
- Track and follow up on service orders to ensure timely returns.
- Keeping Camera Gear in Optimal Condition:
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of all camera gear.
- Address any issues immediately to prevent downtime and ensure optimal performance.
- Social Media Content Creation:
- Capture and produce high-quality photos and videos for social media platforms.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create engaging content that showcases the beauty of the Northern Lights and wilderness adventures.
- Guest Interaction and Photo Service:
- Send photos to guests via email, ensuring timely and personalized communication.
- Respond to any questions or concerns regarding the photo service, providing excellent customer support.
- Assigning Cameras to Evening Safaris & Guides:
- Distribute cameras to guides for evening safaris and ensure they are equipped with the necessary gear.
- Monitor the return and condition of all assigned equipment.
- Photo Quality Control:
- Review and ensure all photos meet the company’s quality standards before distribution.
- Provide feedback and recommendations to guides and other team members to continuously improve photo quality.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in photography, with a strong portfolio.
- Proficiency in photo editing software such as Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to train and mentor others in photography techniques.
- Knowledge of camera equipment maintenance and repair processes.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in social media content creation and marketing.
- Background in customer service and support.
- Knowledge of the local area and its natural attractions.
