We are looking for an energetic, service-minded and experienced Wilderness Guide to join our team for the coming winter season.

Northern Lights Village Ivalo is our newest resort, located beside a working husky farm in the far north of Finnish Lapland. Ivalo is a small resort with a strong focus on personal guest service and memorable experiences in nature.

Your main responsibilities

• Welcoming guests and providing excellent customer service

• Providing thermal clothing and briefing guests on activities and safety

• Leading outdoor activities and excursions according to the guests’ interests and experience

• Ensuring the safety and comfort of all participants

• Providing first aid assistance when needed

• Sharing knowledge of Lapland’s nature, wildlife, geography and culture

• Teaching basic wilderness skills

• Photographing the northern lights with guests

• Maintaining and caring for outdoor equipment

• Keeping the safari house and working areas tidy

• Reporting any damages, accidents or other incidents

• Following the company’s safety instructions and operating procedures

What we expect from you

• Previous work experience as a Wilderness Guide or in a similar guiding role is required, as the role is independent

• Valid B driving licence

• Fluent spoken and written English

• Valid First Aid certificate

• Excellent communication and customer service skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays

• Ability to work outdoors in cold winter conditions

• Positive, responsible and flexible attitude

• Knowledge of Finnish Lapland’s nature and culture

Training in wilderness guiding, photography skills and additional language skills are considered advantages.

The possibility to use your own car is considered an advantage, as the staff accommodation is located in Ivalo, a driving distance from the resort.

Pay, duration and benefits

• Start in November until end of March

• Working hours are 120 h/3 week period

• Salary starting from 2408 € per month depending on experience and skills, plus collective agreement supplements and possible overtime payments

• Shared staff accommodation is available when needed for €300 per month

Northern Lights Village Ivalo on uusin resortimme, joka sijaitsee huskyfarmin läheisyydessä. Ivalo on pieni resortti, jossa oppaamme työskentelevät itsenäisesti ja tarjoavat asiakkaille henkilökohtaista palvelua sekä unohtumattomia luontoelämyksiä.

Työtehtävät

• Asiakkaiden vastaanottaminen ja asiakaspalvelu

• Lämpimien varusteiden jakaminen ja turvallisuusohjeiden antaminen

• Ulkoaktiviteettien ja retkien vetäminen asiakkaiden kiinnostuksen ja kokemustason mukaan

• Osallistujien turvallisuudesta ja viihtyvyydestä huolehtiminen

• Ensiavun antaminen tarvittaessa

• Lapin luonnosta, eläimistöstä, maantieteestä ja kulttuurista kertominen

• Perusluonto- ja erätaitojen opettaminen asiakkaille

• Revontulien valokuvaaminen asiakkaiden kanssa

• Ulkoiluvarusteiden ja kaluston huolto

• Safaritalon ja työskentelyalueiden siisteydestä huolehtiminen

• Mahdolliset raportointitehtävät

• Yrityksen turvallisuusohjeiden ja toimintaperiaatteiden noudattaminen

Edellytämme sinulta

• Aikaisempi työkokemus eräoppaana tai vastaavissa opastustehtävissä on pakollista, sillä tehtävässä toimitaan itsenäisesti

• Voimassa oleva B-ajokortti

• Sujuva suullinen ja kirjallinen englannin kielen taito

• Voimassa oleva ensiaputodistus

• Erinomaiset vuorovaikutus- ja asiakaspalvelutaidot

• Kyky työskennellä itsenäisesti ja osana tiimiä

• Valmius ilta-, viikonloppu- ja pyhävuoroihin

• Kyky työskennellä ulkona kylmissä talviolosuhteissa

• Positiivinen, vastuullinen ja joustava asenne

• Lapin luonnon tuntemus

Koulutus erä- tai luonto-opastuksesta, valokuvaustaidot ja muu kielitaito katsotaan eduksi.

Oman auton käyttömahdollisuus katsotaan eduksi, sillä henkilökunnan majoitus sijaitsee Ivalossa ajomatkan päässä resortista.

Palkka, työsuhteen kesto ja edut

• Työ alkaa marraskuussa ja jatkuu ainakin maaliskuun loppuun

• Työaika on 120 tuntia kolmessa viikossa

• Palkka alkaen 2 408 €/kk kokemuksen ja osaamisen perusteella, lisäksi työehtosopimuksen mukaiset lisät

• Tarvittaessa tarjoamme jaetun henkilökuntamajoituksen hintaan 300 €/kk
